The Nigerian Army has urged Zaria residents to go about their normal activities as they are in control of the security situation of the city. The Spokesman, Col. Sani Usman said this in a statement issued on Sunday. The military had said some suspected members of the Shi’ite sect attacked the convoy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, in Zaria on Saturday. Usman stated that the disruption of peace by any group would not be tolerated. He said groups would be allowed to have peaceful processions unhindered but should not infringe on other citizens’ right to use public highways. He said the Police would conduct an inquiry into the matter and the public would be kept informed about any development.
