A Chief Magistrate Court in Kaduna State has freed two suspects of the three suspected killers of the late Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile.
But the court on Thursday remanded the first suspect, Nehemiah Adejor, who drove the car that killed the Air Force Officer.
Adejor is to be charged for culpable homicide and criminal conspiracy at the Kaduna State High Court.
Martins Leo, the prosecution counsel, asked the court to discharge the 2nd and 3rd suspects, Folorunsho Igbekele Faith and Gbayegun Deji, as the investigation did not find culpable in the murder.
Benjamin Hassan, the presiding Chief Magistrate, subsequently discharged 2nd and 3rd suspects based on the police investigation and the legal advice from Bayero Dari, the state’s Director of Public Prosecution.

Speaking on the case, Muhammad Jalige, the Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Police Command, said: “Based on the advice of the Director of Public Prosecution, the 1st suspect, Nehemiah Adejor, is going to be arraigned at the State High Court for culpable homicide not punishable with death on the 3rd of September, 2020.”
Arotile, the first female combat helicopter pilot of the Nigeria Air Force, died after she was knocked down by a vehicle driven by her secondary school mate on 14 July.
