Pablo Mari, an Arsenal defender, is recovering in a hospital after a stabbing attack that claimed another life.
At a mall in Milan, Italy, the aggressor attacked six people, including Mari, who was reportedly conscious and not seriously hurt.
Five other victims, including Mari, were taken to the hospital. A 30-year-old man who was one of the injured later died.
Reports detailed that the sixth victim of the attack didn’t medical attention.
Mari was attacked with a punch to the face and a knife to the back while doing his shopping with his family at the Assago shopping center.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed the news, saying that the club’s technical director, Edu Gasper, has been in contact with the player’s relatives.
“I know [club technical director] Edu has been in touch with his relatives.
“He is in hospital. He seems to be ok. I will get a briefing now about what happened,” Arteta said.
