Arsenal forward Lucas Perez is out for six weeks after sustaining an ankle ligament injury during the Gunners’ EFL Cup victory over Reading. The former Deportivo La Coruna man was injured on 72 minutes after a rash challenge from Reading’s Danzell Gravenberch.
The 28-year-old will miss Arsenal’s November fixtures against Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint Germain.
Meanwhile the Gunners welcomed French striker Olivier Giroud back to action on Tuesday in their EFL Cup victory. Giroud is expected to be in the team to battle Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in Saturday’s Premier League game.
