Some gunmen have killed one Ibrahim Omatar, identified as chairman of Harmony Community Development Association, in Fagbile Phase 3 Estate, White Sand, in Ijegun, Lagos, a report stated. The attackers were also said to have killed a Togolese block moulder and abducted an 18-year-old lady, Uloma Igwe.

Omatar met his death when he tried to alert the vigilante group while the kidnappers were making away with the teenager. Infuriated by Omatar’s audacity, the gunmen allegedly shot him in the head and chest, killing him instantly.

“I didn’t see the gunmen; what caught our attention were the reports as they gunned down the chairman and the block molder.

“I think the chairman spotted them as they were leaving with Uloma (Igwe). As he raised the alarm, they shot him in the chest and head”, a resident was quoted saying.

Meanwhile, the kidnappers were said to have demanded N1.5m for the release of the teenager.

Fatai Owoseni, commissioner of Police for Lagos, and the Area M Commander have reportedly visited the crime scene.
