Luxury fashion brand Balenciaga has unveiled a brand new it-bag for Autumn/Winter 22 – dubbed the “world’s most expensive trash bag” by the fashion house itself.

The bag costs $1800 which is approximately #800,000 in Nigeria.

This is not at all a mistake. It is definitely a pouch which the fashion brand expects people to spend money on in order to take out their “trash”.

The best part is that it comes in four different colours (and colour combinations) – black, white, red, blue and black, and yellow and black.

Trust Twitter users to come for the brand as they have posted harsh comments and a number of tweets have gone out criticising the bag.

The Balenciaga ‘trash pouch’ is made from calfskin leather and has a glossy coating, according to the New York Post. The bag made its debut/appearance in the Fall of 2022 ready-to-wear collection in Paris in March and is now making its way to stores, the outlet further said.

It does have a discreet logo and comes in the standard hefty bag blavk, solid Glad-esque white, as well as yellow and blue.

Balenciaga’s creative director Demna Gvasalia told Women’s Wear Daily that, “I couldn’t miss an opportunity to make the most expensive trash bag in the world, because who doesn’t love a fashion scandal?”

What do you think of this new development and supposedly ‘innovative’ fashion item?
