Bandits have abducted about 50 persons in Bassa Community, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

The people of the community were said to have fled into bushes for safety after the bandits stormed the area on motorbikes in the early hours of Thursday.

Sani Abubakar Kokki, co-convener of Concerned Shiroro Youths, told The Nation that the bandits are terrorists. He added that the number of persons abducted is not certain, saying that they are many.

Kokki also disclosed that on Tuesday, some other communities in Bassa/Kokki were attacked with many losses recorded.
