Suspected bandits have reportedly asked Akata village in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, to pay a sum of N1 million to avert an imminent attack.

This was contained in a notice of attack sent to the community, Katsina Post reports.
The villagers have started contributing the money to save themselves from the bandits attack, with each resident charged N1,500 per head, the report quotes local sources as saying.

However, SP Gambo Isah, the police command spokesperson, said investigation is currently ongoing into the threat.
