About 50 passengers have reportedly been abducted by bandits along the Tegina-Minna road in the Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.
Daily Trust quoted locals in the area to have said that the bandits had blocked the road on Tuesday at Kundu town, a few kilometres from Zungeru town, shortly before three commercial vehicles carrying passengers ran into them.
It was said that the passengers in the three vehicles were abducted and taken to an unknown destination, while the vehicles were abandoned by the roadside.
In another development, armed bandits abducted unknown number of villagers at Gidigori town in Rafi local government, burnt five cars and carted away valuables.
Confirming this incident, a senior government official said they have not heard from the bandits, to enable the authorities know the identities of those kidnapped.

Also, one person was killed while several others were kidnapped when bandits raided Manta town in Shiroro local government area on Monday evening.
The bandits also ransacked the houses of the villagers, stealing foodstuff and other valuables items.
