Bandits have reportedly killed 12 farmers and 10 others in an attack on Magami and Mayaba communities in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Nine other villagers were also injured in the attack.
Channels Television reports that armed bandits launched the attack when the farmers were trying to clear their farmlands in preparation for this year’s farming activities.
The assailants also carted away livestock and other valuables.
The twelve persons killed are said to have been buried according to Islamic rites, while those injured are receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

In another attack, about ten people were killed and many animals rustled as bandits attacked Bardi And Girkau villages of Anka local government.
The publication said a source in Anka disclosed that the armed men invaded the villages about 9:00pm Thursday evening and started shooting sporadically, killing six people in Bardi and four persons in Girkau.
The bandits also set one motorcycle ablaze and took two away.

SP Shehu Mohammed, spokesperson of the Zamfara State police command, said troops have been deployed to the affected communities.
He added that efforts are ongoing to trace the perpetrators and ensure they face the full wrath of the law.
