Bandits have killed two police officers attached to Operation PUFF ADDER II in Sokoto State.
The deceased policemen were part of the contingent the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Adamu, deployed to tackle banditry in the state.
They were killed in an attack by the armed men in Bargaja village, Issa Local Government Area.
Kamaldeen Okunola, the Commissioner of Police in the state, commiserated with the families on Thursday.
The police command’s spokesperson, ASP Sunusi Abubakar, in a statement said Okunlola, paid a condolence visit to the Operation Commander.
Okunola hailed their efforts so in the fight against banditry so far, and pledged support to strengthen and sustain the capacity of the unit.
The commissioner bemoaned the death of the personnel during active service and vowed that the culprits would be apprehended.
