The National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions Employees (NUBIFIE) has asked its members to join the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) strike on Monday, 28 September, 2020.
The union, in a letter signed by Muhammad Sheikh, its General Secretary, urged its members to comply with the order. It promised to keep them posted as events unfold.
The NLC had said it would embark on the strike to protest the hike in electricity and petrol prices across the country.
According to Ayuba Wabba, the NLC president, the decision was unanimously taken by the chairmen of the 36 states and FCT chapters of the congress.
