Belarusian author, Svetlana Alexievich, has been awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize for Literature on Thursday, for “her polyphonic writings, a monument to suffering and courage in our time.” Alexievich, a journalist, has chronicled the fall of the Soviet Union and the Chernobyl disaster, among other topics.
