Germany’s Sony Music division has unveiled a massive statue of Beyonce which is created from the promo photo for her Netflix special, ‘Homecoming’.
This is similar to what Michael Jackson requested for when he was asked by record executives during the promotion of his album History in 1995. He said: “Build a statue of me.”
Despite the statue posing, Beyonce as an Iconic figure, singer/songwriter Dionne Warwick feels she’s yet to arrive at that iconic status. In an interview, she said this about Queen Bey: “I love her to death and can appreciate her talent. But that iconic status? It’s a long road [ahead].”
It is unclear who the artiste behind the statue is, but it did receive a huge applause from the crowd who witnessed the unveiling at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany.
