Innocent Orji, Commander of the Biafra National Guard (BNG), has revealed that he worked with Ralph Uwazurike and his Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) group.

According to Orji, he trained many MASSOB members in combat.

MASSOB is a secessionist movement in Nigeria, associated with Igbo nationalism, which supports the recreation of an independent state of Biafra.

Orji, a former Nigerian soldier narrated how he settled for separatism and left the military.

Read Orji’s full Facebook post below:

I joined military in 1985 as a cadet. Sufficiently, i mean sufficiently tasted wars in Liberia (2x) and Congo. Was part and parcel of high tactical military actions during military regime as a special force under a certain leader (name withheld) my ranks were on upward trajectory before Ralph Uwazurike officially wrote to me in 1999 as one of the highly ranked and rated Biafrans in Nigerian military. I left Nigerian military and embraced my fate of sacrificing my life for Biafra. The journey is on and promising. One major thing I don’t disclose to the public is my rank and file. This is military and we respect certain information and limit it to ourselves or private contractors. Especially after abandoning maiden military contract with a sovereign state.

During my life as a soldier, I was able to buy a land in Aba and built two storey house. After years of suffering and laying down my life, going to prison for Biafra for 15years. I sold the building to continue this struggle after I came out of detention.

We have made inroads towards defending Biafra. We are going on with preparation despite not receiving shishi from anybody. We are confident of what we are doing and that made us inject money from our sweat.

Most of you fighting for Biafra have something doing. You have homes and building new ones. My family has to rent and take part in the suffering.

I digressed much but not bad. The direct answer is, I don’t personally disclose my rank. You may hear from people telling you this or the other final rank. I am okay and I would someday disclose this but maybe, after the mission we are on.
