Aloy Ejimakor, lawyer to Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on Friday said it is difficult for Nigeria to be an indivisible country because ‘a section hates one part and loves the other parts’.

Newsbreak.ng reports that Ejimakor stated that those seeking separation from Nigeria cannot be entirely blamed because they don’t feel loved in a country they call theirs.

It’s a contradiction to say that a nation that hates it’s one part and loves the other parts can be one. It never happened in history. Instead, the opposite happened.

Anybody who seeks to separate from such a self-conflicted nation has been left with no other option.

“It’s a contradiction to say that a nation that hates it’s one part and loves the other parts can be one. It never happened in history. Instead, the opposite happened.

“Anybody who seeks to separate from such a self-conflicted nation has been left with no other option,” Ejimakor wrote on his known Twitter handle.

An attempt by Igbo separatists to secede as the Republic of Biafra in 1967 triggered a three-year civil war that killed more than one million people.

Similar to Biafra separatists are Oodua Republic agitators who want a sovereign Yoruba nation.
