Newsbreak reports that former Big Brother Naija (BBN) star, Mike Edwards, became the first Nigerian to win an African Championships medal in the men’s High Jump since 1996.
Edwards achieved the feat at the weekend, on the final day of the 22nd African Senior Athletics Championships in Mauritius.
Featuring at the African Championships for the second time, the 31-year-old claimed his first-ever medal for his country with a clearance of 2.15m to win Silver.
The athlete owns the first Black-owned cigar line in the United Kingdom (UK).
He is married to Perri Shakes-Drayton, also an athlete. Together, they have a child.
