A court sheriff was injured and his head dripping with blood after he was allegedly beaten at the home of hip hop singing duo, P-Sqaure, in Omole Phase I, Ojodu-Lagos. The court sheriff and his colleague were said to have stormed the house early Friday morning to enforce a court-backed seizure of the property. But gatekeepers at the palatial Square Ville in the upscale gated estate wouldn’t allow them in. The sheriffs were told the P-Square brothers were not at home. The sheriffs allegedly forced their way in, injuring one of the gatekeepers. It emerged that the reason for the court action was that the brothers – Peter and Paul Okoye – failed to perform at an event in Benin, Edo state, after they were paid N1 million. They were said to have learnt of the postponement of the event to the next day after they arrived Benin, but the brothers insisted on their initial contract to perform on the already fixed day. So, they left for Lagos. The case resulted in litigation, hence the judgment. The sheriffs have refused to quit the house and making effort to tow the vehicle away.
