Former Rivers state governor Peter Odili and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bode George allegedly received N200 million from the $2.1 billion ostensibly budgeted for arms purchase. The involvement of George and Odili was reported by online news platform, Saharareporters. The monies were paid to the two men through the Office of the National Assembly under Sambo Dasuki, a retired colonel and former National Security Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan. Department of State Security and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s investigators have unearthed details on how various sums were paid to PDP politicians and high-ranking officials for the prosecution of President Goodluck Jonathan’s failed re-election in 2015.
