The terrorist group, Boko Haram on Friday attacked Geidam, Yobe State, the home town of Usman Alkali, the acting Inspector General of Police.
The attackers, it was gathered, invaded the town on Friday evening and laid siege on some parts of the town.
The terrorists attacked the heart of the town, burning shops and shooting indiscriminately in a gun battle with troops, the Punch reported a source as saying.
The number of casualties involved in Friday’s attack is yet unknown.
Dungus Abdulkarim, the Public Relations Officer of the Yobe Police Command, confirmed the attack.
He, however, noted that the details of the report were unknown as of the time of this report.
