A Friday attack in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, by the Islamic terrorists group, Boko Haram, have killed seven people and injured many others. The terrorists were reported to have fired rocket propelled grenades (RPG) at residential building in Maiduguri. The death toll, Leadership says, was confirmed by an anonymous top secret serviceman. He was also said to have confirmed the destruction of two houses due to the grenades fired at them. The insurgents had attempted to enter the city with daring attack, but tried unsuccessfully. About 40 grenades were said to have been fired by the insurgents, who were prevented from advancing into the town by soldiers firing from their trenches and behind numerous sand fortresses.
