The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has stated that it will demand immediate prosecution of the officer responsible for the murder of Bolanle Raheem, a lawyer from Lagos, as well as the payment of damages of at least N5 billion.
Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and human rights attorney, announced this in a statement on Thursday.
Adegboruwa requested Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to compensate Raheem’s family in accordance with the strategy he used at the EndSARS Judicial Panel.
“The NBA is also seeking monetary compensation for the family of Mrs Raheem from the government of Lagos State, the Federal Government and indeed the Ngieria Police Force and the Police Service Commission, through its Human Rights Committee. The NBA will seek for payment of damages not less than five billion naira in addition to the prosecution of the killer Cop,” the statement by Adegboruwa read.
