Adou Quattara, 8, the Ivorian boy smuggled in a suitcase by his father from Morocco to Spain, has been reunited with his mother. Adou’s father, alongside a woman, last month, smuggled the teenage boy in a bag without air vents. The father and the Moroccan woman were arrested at the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. The boy’s father is however due to be released on bail.
Spanish authorities would conduct a DNA test before handing him over to his mother, a legal resident of Spain Canary Islands.
The father also lives on the Canary Islands, he tried to bring his son into Spain through legal means but ran out of cash. Spanish officials have granted the boy a year to stay in Spain.
