Newsbreak reports that a party chieftain and former Chief Judge of Anambra State, Professor Peter Nnanna Umeadi, on Wednesday, clinched the presidential ticket of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
Umeadi was picked at a special convention at the Katampe-Abuja national headquarters of the party which was attended by party leaders and members drawn from the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.
A total of 150 delegates affirmed the candidacy of Prof. Umeadi.
National chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye while thanking party members expressed optimism that in 2023, Umeadi would be sworn in as the President of Nigeria.
On his part, Prof. Umeadi pledged to administer Nigeria with firmness and fairness and reposition the country to the path of progress, harmony and prosperity.
The Anambra chieftain also disclosed that the uppermost priority of his government if he emerges as President will be to initiate genuine reconciliation across the length and breadth of the country.
Continuing, Umeadi promised to usher in patriotism, collective reconstruction of the nation’s economy, upliftment of all segments of the society, promoting probity, accountability, and dedication in public and private lives.
This news medium reports that the presidential hopeful served under the government of former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, as Chief Judge for three years and same position under the immediate past governor, Willie Obiano for five years.
