France football star, Karim Benzema on Monday announced his retirement from international football.
Newsbreak.ng reports that Benzema’s announcement comes a day after France lost to Argentina in a scintillating World Cup final at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar.
Benzema missed Qatar 2022 due to a thigh injury on the eve of the tournament, and going by his update, will not play for France again.
His international career saw him inactive for his country for five years after being implicated in a blackmailing scandal.

“I made the effort and the mistakes it took to be where I am today and I’m proud of it! I have written my story and ours is ending,” the Real Madrid striker and Ballon d’Or holder wrote on his verified Twitter handle.
