Archbishop Daniel Okoh has taken over the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Archbishop Okoh succeeds Reverend Samson Ayokunle, who has held the CAN leadership position since 2016.
Okoh, the General Superintendent of Christ Holy Church International, emerged as the new CAN leader, after garnering a 100 percent vote of all 259 delegates who participated in the 12th General Assembly of CAN on Thursday.
Speaking after his emergence as the new CAN helmsman, Archbishop Okoh vowed that the apex Christian body would continue to participate actively and effectively in nation-building.
“Whatever happens, no matter how many times our sensibilities are insulted, we must resolve to make a positive impact on the political, economic and social systems of our dear nation,” he said.
