There is confusion in Enugu over the sudden disappearance of Ejike Mbaka, a Catholic priest and Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, on Wednesday.
A group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, has given the Federal Government two days to produce the priest, warning that nothing untoward must happen to him.
“We are giving the Federal Government 48 hours to produce the priest, else they should be ready to face Igbo youths. They were dining and wining with him all along and now that he told the truth, they are no longer comfortable with him.
“Let nothing happen to Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka. It will not be in anybody’s interest,” the group said in a statement by its president, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike.
Reno Omokri, a former media aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has suggested that Mbaka may have been arrested by security operatives.
Meanwhile, protesters have stormed the Diocese of Enugu demanding that Mbaka’s whereabouts is revealed.
Mbaka had last week openly condemned President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, which he had supported in the past, blessing Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
He also warned the Federal Government that anger from heaven would fall on them if they attack him.
