Personnel of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday stormed the Abuja residence of Rochas Okorocha, a former Governor of Imo State, and presidential aspirant in the 2023 General Elections.
Newsbreak learned that Okorocha, a top member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), had been invited the anti-graft agency, but he declined to honour their several invitations.
Sources said the EFCC has for sometime now been investigating Okorocha for corruption.
“We kept inviting him but he kept dodging us,” one of our sources said. “We were left with no choice than to come here today.”
The EFCC had, on January 31, filed a 17-count charge against the serving Senator before a federal high court in Abuja.
The charge against Okorocha came hours after he formally declared his intention to run for president.
