An ethnic clash has been reported in the Dei-Dei area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Municipal Area Council.
Newsbreak.ng gathered that the clash is a result of a disagreement between okada riders and traders on Wednesday.
According to reports, mayhem started after a commercial motorcyclist knocked down a woman who died on the spot.
A resident of Dei-Dei who pleaded anonymity according to a report by Daily Trust said five people he knows have been killed in the clash.
“Five persons that I know have been killed in this incident. We have been calling for security intervention to no avail.”
He further lamented that the clash is metamorphosing into an ethnic crisis.
“We are really worried that this crisis is tilting towards ethnic dimension”, he stated.
As sighted in the video clip made available to Newsbreak.ng, shops, and houses have been razed due to the clash.
Although as of the time of filing this report, no official statement has been released by the FCT Police Command.
