Eintracht Frankfurt defeated Glasgow Rangers 5-4 on penalties in the 2022 Europa League final on Wednesday at the Seville’s Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium in Spain.
Newsbreak reports that three Super Eagles stars play for Rangers: midfielder Joe Aribo; defenders Leon Balogun and Calvin Bassey.
Aribo and Bassey featured, while Balogun was on the bench throughout the match.
Aribo gave the Scottish side the lead in the 57th minute.
Colombian forward, Rafael Santos Borré Maury, equalised for the Germans in the 69th minute.
It was stalemate after extra-time, and the lottery of penalties decided the game.
The triumph was Frankfurt’s first European trophy in 42 years.
