The Plateau State Government on Thursday revoked the licence of all private nursery, primary and secondary schools operating in its territory.
The State Commissioner of Education, Elizabeth Wampum, made this known at a news conference today (Thursday).
According to her, the decision was taken by the government after it came to its knowledge that over 5,000 private schools were operating without license.
A lot of private schools earlier granted licenses had allegedly compromised too.
“This is to inform the general public that the operating license of all private Nursery/Pre-primary, Primary, Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools in the State will have to revalidate their certification,” Wampum said.
