The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has fixed Saturday, 28 October, 2017 for the conduct of House of Representatives by-election into the Kware/Wamakko Federal Constituency, Sokoto state.

According to INEC, notice of the election will be made known on October 6; last day for conduct of party primaries slated for October 14; last day for submission of Form CFOO1, CFOO2, and nomination form at INEC headquarters will hold October 23.

The by-election timetable also said submission of names for party agents is fixed for October 20, while the last day for campaigns by party candidates is on 26 October.

The seat became vacant following the death of Representative Abdullahi Muhammadu Wamakko. The late representative died after a brief illness at a hospital in Abuja. He was a cousin of the immediate past Sokoto governor, now senator, Aliyu Wamakko.
