The Labour Party House of Assembly candidate for Okigwe State Constituency in Imo State, Irouno Chukwunonye, is dead.

Details surrounding his death are still sketchy, but Newsbreak.ng learned that Chukwunonye died on Monday night.

The late politician who is also a member of the Obi-Yusuf Datti presidential campaign council was billed to anchor Peter Obi’s presidential rally in Owerri today, Tuesday.

He was the Senior Special Assistant to the Imo Governor on Entertainment. He was also the pioneer Chairman of the Imo State Entertainment and Carnival Commission.

Meanwhile, the State Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the Labour Party, Martin Agbaso, has stated that even though it may be a herculean task to control the crowd of party faithful when the presidential candidate, Obi visits the state today (Tuesday), arrangements have been concluded to manage them to a successful hosting.

According to him, all is now set to receive the presidential candidate in Imo State.
