Vinicius Junior scored in the second half as Real Madrid beat Liverpool to claim their 14th European Cup at the Stade de France in Paris on Saturday night, Newsbreak reports.
Liverpool gave it a valiant effort but in the end, an inspired display from Los Blancos, coupled with Vinicius Jr’s decisive goal, was enough to land the Spanish giants the victory.
Madrid have now been the winning team in their last eight UEFA Champions League (UCL) final appearances.
With the triumph of the Spanish giants, Carlo Ancelotti became the first coach to win the UCL four times.
Ancelotti is also the first coach to lead a team in five UCL finals.
He won the UCL for AC Milan in 2002-03 and 2006-07, Real Madrid in 2013-14 and in 2021-22.
With the victory at the weekend, the Italian tactician also became the first coach to win the competition twice with more than one club. He shares the landmark of three with former Real Madrid boss, Zinédine Zidane and Liverpool’s Bob Paisley.
