Enock Mwepu, Brighton’s midfielder, has announced his retirement from football after being diagnosed with a heart condition.
In an emotional message to Brighton and Zambia FA fans, the talented midfielder said he decided to retire from football due to medical advice.
“It is with sadness that I announce the need to hang my boots because of the medical advice i had received,” a statement by Mwepu read.
The fast-rising talented midfielder disclosed that his early retirement is however not the end of his involvement with football.
“This is however not the end of involvement with football, I plan to stay involved in some capacity,” he added.
The now-retired midfielder expressed gratitude to his fans in both Brighton and Zambia for their support throughout his football career.
