Yusha’u Ahmed, a brigadier general, has been appointed as the director general of the National Youth Service Corps with the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari (NYSC).
The Cable Newspaper reports that Eddy Megwa, NYSC spokesperson confirmed that a new DG will resume at the NYSC on Monday.
Christy Uba, head of information and communications technology for NYSC, assumed overseer responsibilities for the corps in November 2022.
Mohammed Fadah was fired from his post as director-general of the NYSC, and Uba took over.
Fadah was asked to turn over control to the corps’ top officer after being fired for apparent ineffectiveness.
After taking over in May 2022 and becoming the 19th individual to hold the role of NYSC DG, Fadah was fired less than seven months later.
