President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with members of the Economic Advisory Council (EAC).
President Buhari presided over the virtual meeting from the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Renowned economist, Professor Doyin Salami is the Chairman of the Council.
Dr Mohammed Sagagi is the council’s Vice Chairman, while Professor Ode Ojowu; Dr Shehu Yahaya; Dr Iyabo Masha; former Central Bank governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo; Mr Bismark Rewane and Dr Mohammed Salisu serve as members.
The EAC was constituted on September 16, 2019, following the disbandment of the Economic Management Team (EMT), which was headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
The EAC advises the President on economic policy matters, including fiscal analysis, economic growth and a range of internal and global economic issues working with the relevant cabinet members and heads of monetary and fiscal agencies, according to a statement issued by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
