President Muhammadu Buhari will not address Nigerians on Monday, Femi Adesina, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, has said.

Aliyu Sani, National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics had said Buhari’s address would bother on whether the country would proceed to the next round of easing lockdown or maintain status quo.

However, Adesina, in a tweet, said Buhari will not be addressing the country. He said the Presidential Task Force would brief the country on the next steps in managing the pandemic.

“No presidential broadcast on COVID-19 updates today. None was planned. Rather, the Presidential Task Force will during its usual media briefings bring the nation up to speed on the next steps,” Adesina wrote.
