Reno Omokri, ex-aide to former President, Goodluck Jonathan, has slammed President Muhammadu Buhari for being absent at the funeral of late Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 other officers who died in an aircraft crash in Kaduna on Friday.

Attahiru and some senior military personnel died onboard a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Beechcraft 350 that crashed near the Kaduna International Airport on Friday evening.
Their remains were transported to Abuja for interment, which took place at the National Military Cemetery on Saturday.

While the President’s Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari; governors, senators, house of representatives members and other dignitaries travelled from their states to attend the funeral, Buhari was represented by Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi.
Commenting on the development, Omokri said Buhari recently travelled to France to attend a summit, but was absent at the burial of the country’s army chief.

He shared the picture of Jonathan at the funeral of late General Andrew Azazi, who also died in a helicopter crash in 2012.
“Sad that General @MBuhari did not attend the burial of the late Chief of Army Staff, General Attahiru. He was represented by his Defence Minister. Attahiru died serving Nigeria. Buhari, who went to Paris for 4 days, could not go to Attahiru’s funeral for 30 minutes,” he wrote.

“This is then President @GEJonathan at the funeral of General Azazi, who died in a helicopter crash on December 15, 2012. He traveled 500 miles to attend this funeral. Yet @MBuhari, who flew 4000 miles to France, could not drive 15 miles to attend Attahiru’s funeral?
