A bus accident that occurred on Ibadan-Oyo Road on Saturday evening has killed ten people and injured nine. The crash involving a Toyota Hiace happened at Itose village and was said to be travelling from Sango-Ota, Ogun State to Ilorin, Kwara State. The eyewitness said the driver of the bus lost control as he was making an attempt to manoeuvre his way after suddenly running into a pothole in the middle of the road. Th ebus skidded off the road and ran into a ditch due to the maneouvering.
The Public Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Oyo State, Oluwaseun Onijala, confirmed the incident, saying that those injured in the accident were rescued and rushed to the Akinlolu Hospital for immediate treatment. The dead, he said, were taken to the Adeoyo State Hospital morgue in Ibadan.
