Argentine striker Carlos Tevez played his last match for Boca Juniors on Sunday night as he prepares to join Chinese Super League club, Shanghai Shenhua. Tvez, 32, ignored the pleas of the fans to reconsider his stance as he said his farewell after being substituted in the last minute of the match which they won 4-1 on Sunday night. The contract with Shanghai will fetch the former Juventus striker a whooping £651,000 a week making him the highest paid footballer on the planet.
A supporter ran onto the pitch to plead with the forward to stay but apparently it was too late as the deal is reportedly in its final stages of completion. Around the ground, fans pleaded with Tevez to reconsider his megabucks move, holding up signs that read ‘Don’t go, Carlos!’
Chelsea’s Oscar is also set to complete his move to Shanghai SIPG soon where he will earn £400,000 per week, more than any player in England and interestingly better than both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
