Lauretta Onochie, Personal Assistant to the President on Social Media, has said David Oyedepo, the presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide (aka Winners’ Chapel), must either respect the laws of the land or manufacture his own country to live in.
Onochie said this in a Twitter post on Monday in reaction to the cleric’s criticism of the recently assented Company and Allied Matters Act (CAMA).
Delivering a sermon during his church service on Sunday, Oyedepo said the church is God’s property and does not belong to any man, insisting that he will fight the government if it attempted to control the church through the CAMA.
But responding, Onochie said Oyedepo must learn to obey all regulations in Nigeria so far he continues to reside in the country.
She added that lawlessness should not be promoted by religious institutions.
I hope this is not true.
If it is, Oyedepo will have to manufacture his own country and live by his own laws.
As long as he lives and operates within the entity called Nigeria, he will live by Nigerian rules and laws. He will do as he's told by the law🙄
