It was a bad day for Britain’s Amir Khan as he was knocked out by Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in the sixth round of the WBC middleweight title fight in Las Vegas. Khan had put up a brilliant performance that saw him using a superior speed and movement to frustrate the champion and appeared ahead on points. But the British boxer suddenly lost concentration that became his undoing. He was knocked out by WBC middleweight titleholder Canelo.
The fight was the first at the 20,000-capacity T-Mobile Arena, which was like a home turf for the Mexican, Canelo. His supporters rained boos and jeers upon Khan.
