Rev. Fr. Jude Onyebadi, a Catholic priest, who was abducted by unknown gunmen in Delta State has regained his freedom.
The priest was kidnapped by suspected herdsmen on his farm along the Isele-Uku/Issele-Mkpetime Road in the Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state over the weekend.
The abduction was the second time that Onyebadi, the Parish Priest of Saint’s Peters and Paul, Issele Asagba, was kidnapped.
A source disclosed that Onyebadi was freed by his abductors around 7:30pm on Tuesday.
“He was released on Tuesday evening and was immediately rushed to the hospital in Asaba for treatment,” the source told the Punch.
The source, however, could not confirm if any ransom was paid to secure his release.
When contacted, police spokesperson in the state, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the released of the priest.
