Yakassai said trailer drivers should also join the strike, so that southerners will know their importance.
The Amalgamated Union of Foodstuff and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria (AUFCDN) had threatened that it would embark on strike on February 25, 2021, if the Federal Government fails to pay the sum of N475 billion as compensation for loss of its members and property during the #EndSARS protests and recent Sasa market crisis in Oyo State.

The union began an indefinite strike on Thursday, after its seven-day ultimatum given to the federal government expired.
Reacting to the news via Twitter, Yakassai said no one has been held accountable over attacks on northerners in the south.
He wrote: “I endorse this strike %100. I wish trailer drivers will do their own too so that the South will know their importance and stop attacking them whenever there is chaos in that part of the country, with nobody being held accountable nor the victims being compensated.”
