Cattle Rustlers Kill 8 In Kaduna

Eight persons were reportedly killed by suspected cattle rustlers at Kurega village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The incident happened on Tuesday at about 2pm. Kurega shares boundary with ‎Birnin Gwari Local Government.

Those injured have been taken to a hospital at the nearby community.

‎A member of a vigilante group in the area said eight people were killed by the rustlers.

“The people of Kurega village lost eight of their strong hunters. We have brought out eight bodies from the bush to the town,” he said.

Aliyu Mukhtar Hussaini Aliyu, the police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna State, confirmed the incident, but said three persons were killed while four others were injured.

“They also made away with some number of cattle. We have launched an investigation into the matter,” he said.
