A presidential aspirant in the 2023 general elections, Kingsley Moghalu on Saturday aimed a subtle jibe at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
Newsbreak.ng reports that Emefiele has reportedly taken delivery of his campaign vehicles ahead of the 2023 presidential elections.
Several cars branded with Emefiele’s pictures, adorning traditional outfits of the three major ethnic groups in Nigeria, were seen by this newspaper.
On March 26, campaign posters publicising the CBN governor as presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) flooded Eagle Square, during the party’s national convention in Abuja. Emefiele is not known to be card-carrying member of any political party, and has not announced that he will be contesting for the APC’s ticket. However, many political observers believe he is interested in the race.
“Nothing will shock me again in Nigeria. One of these days a Supreme Court judge might start campaigning for the presidency or the Senate while still on the Bench, and pretend his ambitions will not influence his judgments!” Moghalu wrote on his verified Twitter handle, in a veiled criticism of Emefiele.
