The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has granted Payment Service Bank (PSB) licenses to two telecommunication companies, MTN and Airtel.
This was disclosed in separate statements issued by the telecom companies on Friday.
According to the statements, signed by Uto Upanah, MTN Company Secretary; and Simon O’Hara, Airtel Group Company Secretary, respectively, both telco providers are delighted with the approval of the licences granted to them by Nigeria’s apex banker.
Both MTN and Airtel pledged to use the approval of the PSB licences to expand financial inclusion and provide reliable banking services to Nigerians.
