Solomon Ogbeide, the Technical Adviser of Lobi Stars, has said the club are not afraid to face any opponent in the 2018/19 CAF Champions League.
The league champions are set to face Wydad Athletic Casablanca of Morocco in the competition on Saturday.
Ogbeide told journalists in Enugu, where the club adopted as their home-ground in the competition, that he was confident of victory because his team is not afraid of Wydad.
“Lobi Stars’ management, technical crew and players are battle ready, determined and confident of victory against Wydad.
“We have to win because it will be a thing of honour to make it two wins from three matches in the group and this will brighten our chances of qualifying to the next stage.
“Moreover, we are fired up right now, especially with the 3-0 victory we got over Kwara United FC of Ilorin in our last match in the Nigeria Professional Football League,” he said.
Lobi lost their second match of the competition’s group stage 1-0 to Asec Mimosas in Cote d’Ivoire two weeks ago, after their 2-1 victory over South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundows in the first game.
Ogbeide further said the Makurdi club would not be held back by the absence of some key players, saying other players would rise to the occasion.
