It was a positive night for English football as Manchester City did a good job of beating Ukrainian team, Dynamo Kyiv. City, though started slowly, broke the deadlock on 15 minutes with Sergio Aguero tucking the ball in the back of the net. The goal brought confidence to the City camp as they seemed steady afterwards. Just before the closing of the first half, 40th minute to be precise, David Silva made it two after Raheem Sterling’s brilliant low cross found him in the box. Kyiv came back stronger and got rewarded on 49 minutes when Vitaly Buyalsky’s shot deflected off Nicolas Otamendi to give Joe Hart no chance of saving. The game stood at 2-1 for a better part of the game but just as the fans were calculating a one-goal deficit, Yaya Toure made up for an early miss by netting with a well curled strike to make it three for the visitors.
In another game, Dutch team, PSV held visiting Atletico Madrid to a goalless draw. The Madrid team came close to scoring but had been denied by Bruma’s clearance off the line. PSV’s Gaston Pereiro was red-carded but theteam was able to cope with just 10 man to share the spoils with Atletico.
